The average wedding costs $35,329, up from the previous average of $32,641, according to the popular wedding site The Knot. There’s no reason not to expect that figure to go even higher in 2018 and beyond, meaning brides really need to know how to get the most of out every dollar. Having a budget-friendly wedding doesn’t mean cutting corners and settling for substandard venues or services though. It’s possible to have the wedding you’ve always dreamed of without breaking the bank.
First, decide on what things are the most important to you, and which things you can do without or cut back on. One thing you shouldn't cut back on is your wedding day transportation. All eyes will be on the two of you, and the car you choose will be immortalized in your photos forever, so make a good choice. Here are some tips on getting the best car for your special day. Look for Small Ways to Save If you have your heart set on a super special or ultra posh ride but can't afford the all-day rental, rent it for just your arrival. That's the most important part anyway. It used to be that sending the couple away on their honeymoon was a big event, but that tradition has died out in recent years as after parties, and delayed honeymoons became more commonplace. Add Some Fun Traditional limos and Rolls Royce’s are lovely. But to add fun and a personal touch to your wedding, think about alternatives like a classic hotrod, dune buggy or even a friend’s brand new pickup. Choose a vehicle from a manufacturer that reflects your personal style and sense of fun. Do Your Homework Always research any car company you are interested in. Read reviews online, visit them so you can see the cars in person, and if at all possible, talk to others who have used them. Always run the company's name through Google and see what pops up. Things like accidents and lawsuits are usually public record, so you'll be able to spot any red flags right away. If a company doesn't let you see their vehicles, run, don't walk away. That usually means they don't actually own any; they get them from other vendors the day they are needed. This means you have no guarantee that the vehicle you booked will be the one you actually get. Have All the Answers When you choose a transportation vendor, you won’t be the only one who has questions, so for the best service, make sure you have the answers to the following questions:
Relax The most important thing you can do is relax and enjoy your day. If things don’t go exactly as planned (and they seldom do), let it roll off your shoulders. Don’t let stress or aggravation ruin your memories. Just in case any big issues happen, make sure someone has a copy of your contract and contact information for the company. Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life and your transportation should be just as special. Relax, do your homework, be creative and about all, have fun! Congrats on your wedding.
